Experience Charleville – Cosmos Centre

View the sky like never before and come and learn about astronomy in the most unique way.

Ooh, ahh, wow, spectacular; are the words you hear in the Observatory at Charleville’s Cosmos Centre, when on a clear night sky viewing the incredible beauty of the Milky Way Galaxy, through the powerful Meade telescopes and unaffected by the lights and pollution which cover the stars in city areas, is the focus of the Charleville Cosmos Centre. Charleville’s Cosmos Centre and Observatory is dedicated to ensuring visitors enjoy the wonder of the outback night sky. The guides at the Cosmos Centre share their knowledge and you will observe binary stars, star clusters, planets and the Moon. The Cosmos Centre operates day and night experiences; both activities will build on your knowledge of astronomy and bring you up to date with discoveries.

Macca from What's Up Downunder

Craig “Macca” McGown has spent more than half his life exploring and working all over Australia. He has been involved in the outdoor leisure industry for over 15 of those years and has an intimate understanding of what does and doesn’t work in Australia’s harshest environments.

He’s a quintessential Aussie character that makes the challenges of the RV lifestyle simple and easy to understand.

Here is the first of two chats with Macca, we talk his recent Cape York trip, filming for What’s Up Downunder in Victoria, where they stayed at the Halls Gap, in the spectacular and rugged Grampians, and their drive along the Iconic Great Ocean Road.
